The 2008 S1 Series Awards and dinner were held at the Chesford Grange Hotel on Saturday 10th January.  All trophy winners received their awards at the Super One Stand 6210 at the NEC, Autosport Racing Car Show, on Saturday 10th January, at the following times, and the top three had a further podium presentation at the dinner, attended by 240 guests.  The ABkC provided some £28,000 in cash prizes, adding to the total of nearly £70,000 in value to the 2008 participants.

2009 dates: See the News Page and www.abkc.org.uk for a complete calendar.

The Super One Series promoters and officials would like to congratulate Lewis Hamilton on his brilliant success in winning the 2008 F1 World Championship.  Lewis Hamilton was the Super One 1995 Cadet Champion (opposite), and the 1997 Junior Yamaha Champion, proving that "S1 to F1 really is a reality"

Comer Cadet Carburettor:
ZipKart with agreement from the MSA have issued this Guidance Note on the use of the Tryton carburettors, including the amendment to regulations to use a modified block and two types of needle and seat.  Please check the Zipkart website for any later updates.  The MSA issued an amended fiche for the engine / carburettor on 16 July 2008 to allow the use of new easier to adjust jet adjustmenet needles, which is on the www.msauk.org website and here. The MSA Statement is on the news page.

Please note that 2009 official tyre prices are on www.abkc.org.uk in agreement with the tyre suppliers, but the prices are not guaranteed to be the same all year.  The ABkC negotiated successfully to keep the price increase to a minimum, but there were considerable increases due to the cost of raw material, the higher transport costs in 2008, and especially the massive change in exchange rates towards the end of 2008.
